Jumbo Pottery

At Iron Art Glass our tradition is to bring you elegant hand crafted products. These Items are unique and of substantial quality and beauty. This Terra-Cotta Pottery is handcrafted by local artisans on the very small island of Lombok, Indonesia. Earthenware clay is found in deposits near every pottery village. It is dug by hand and carried home in baskets were lumps of clay are prepared for making pots. Coils of clay, rolled by hand; are built up and pinched together to form various shapes of vases and pots. The pottery is then dried in the sun prior to firing. Sizes, color, and designs will be different and unique with each piece. The firing process is completed using bamboo, rice straw, corn and coconut husks, creating a speckled black pattern over the red / antique surface. This Terra-Cotta pottery is fired not glazed.

These Jumbo Pots which range in size from 16 inches to 24 inches in height or diameter must be shipped by Motor Freight. It is advised that between 10-12 pieces are picked out to fit on a pallet. Please call our office at 440-306-2454 for details about ordering these large terra cotta pieces.
